THE NOVEMBERS - holy
This is still my favorite track off the To (melt into) album.
Kobayashi likes it very much too, apparently. And I think I read somewhere that he actually wrote this song a very long time ago, like in high school or something. If that's true then well... WOAH.
I love the live version of this song too coz it's very powerful and the end is very resounding.
ASH - Binary (SLASHED MUSIC VIDEO)
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
I didn't think I'd live to see the day that Slash would be released!!! (well in parts anyway!)
FINALYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY got to see Tim sleep with Charlotte!! ahahahahahahahhahaha
It was so cute!!!
And I love the part he went screaming "CHARLOTTE!!!" when the ghost axe murderer slaughtered Charlotte in the bathroom...
ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDd
the part I loved the most is when Tim ran to the dude from Coldplay and said
"You got to help me! My girlfriend---- I mean my band mates have all been murdered!!"
IT WAS TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO REAL to have been slip of the tongue, Tim!!! mauahahahahahahha
Anyway, I'm really super stoked to finally see Tim and Chaz together, albiet only in dreams eh.
It's shite how he dumped her from the band in the end, though.
I want to believe they had a fight and broke up and stuff like that... sigh.
Northstar
Woke up today for some unknown reason I had this phrase that just went through over and over and over in my head "you're absolutely fabulous"
of course I knew it was from a song from a LONNNNGGGGG time ago, and I remember there was once I woke up with the same lines too..
Anyway tried to google it and of course came back with a million hits... Then suddenly I ACTUALLY remembered who sang it! NORTHSTAR.
have TOTALLY forgotten about this band. I loved this band and playing their songs TOTALLY reminds of of the August '03. I remember playing this band NON-STOP tthat entire summer. Man listening to Taker Not a Giver, I think I can smell the ocean and feel the breeze of Torrance that summer when mom visited and we were staying with Aunt Mei for a few days....
I saw them live only once before they broke up, it was a REALLY REALLY small show at the Roxy on Sunset and they didn't even go on till 12:30am... My last bus back to Northridge was at 12:20, at Reseda/Ventura no-less! But I stayed on for the show and it was cool!! Coz there were basically like a dozen of us left in the pit at that time. A great show nevertheless!
Taking Back Sunday calls this "The Best Band Ever"- and even has that endorsement sticker on Northstar's Is This Thing Loaded? CDs!
Check it!!!
Man... can't decide which song is the best! So since I woke up with Cinderella on my mind, Cinderella it would be then! I liked the demo version of the song better though, but the hard drive won't power up, so I don't have it!!
And yes, today, I think I really miss America... =)
I don't know what American music became in the end, but I sure as hell know they were REALLY good at one time! And I'm really glad I got to be there at that moment.

Northstar - Taker not a Giver
Northstar - My Ricochet (Acoustic)
Lunkhead - Komorebi (木漏れ陽)
Can't believe it took me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frigging long to feature this song. Epic Fail. =_=
This is the FIRST FIRST FIRST ever Lunkhead song I heard when I downloaded a J-indies mix on jpopsuki in July 2006.There were quite alot of the usual J-rock/J-indies band on that mix but I totally fell in love with Lunkhead's song only.
Of course, at that time it was IMPOSSIBLE to find anything Lunkhead online... I think there was only Chizu available... and then a few monts later when I got back to CA, Tsuki to Tenohira was also uploaded by then.
But I really, really, really loved this song and I still do very much. When I first heard this song, I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
The part of this song I love the most is the first chorus where Odaka-san sings, "Sekai wa dore dake no koto wo, omode ni kaete susumo no darou?"
I remember the feeling this part gave me was of someone who is trapped by troubles of this world, but he takes flight and fly away to the sky above...
I STILL don't know what this part means (Oh, How i wish I could ask Yoshitaro one day... But I think it's better luck asking Yamashita-san, because at least he can explain it in ENGLISH!)... That's because apparently, the part can't be translated... Grammatically, it doesn't make sense.
But, I can still remember those mornings I played this song on the train on the way from Boston to Framingham... I remember when the train passes Fenway Park, there is a part along that route where it comes out of a short tunnel and you can see the lights through the window... And I can still remember listening to this chorus play as I looked out of the window on one of those mornings...
I also remember printing out the lyrics to the song and transcribing it to hiragana so I could memorize the lyrics... I remember I was memorizing the lyrics while I waited for the train from Framingham back to Boston and I still remember at one of the stops, I was holding the lyrics and trying to sing it with Odaka-san... DUDE, his PRONUNCIATION was TOTALLY DIFFERENT yo!!!
And most of all, I remember, it was this time that I liked Plastic Tree and Lunkhead... And it was around winter on the year before I left America. And I remember telling myself "I want to see Plastic Tree live... and I also want to see Lunkhead live," --- And i think that was the moment I decided that the only way to do that was to leave America to go back to Malaysia, because with the immigrant status that I was in, I could have never gone to visit Japan... And I wanted to visit Japan.... Because I wanted to go for LIVE... and to do that, I had to come back to Malaysia.
So..
That's how I came back.
Because of this song.

S.R.S.
Been totally listening to.... S.R.S.
Well well, I first checked out this band when their latest single "Wonder Song" was on display and promotion in the HMV store in Shibuya.
However, because of the cheap ass me, I wasn't willing to fork out 1800円 for 3 songs, I did not purchase their CD. There was one really cool song in the single that I really liked though, but 1800 was just too much!!!!!
I was really lucky tho, coz so happened, FOR SOME UNKNOWN BUT GREAT REASON, jpop.cn had the single!! I mean, it's totally really lucky coz this band is almost totally unknown!
Anyway, I found out that they are signed to Toy's Factory (Tsubaki's lable). They sound typically Japanese (indie) rock but I really really love their song さよならボクサー Sayonara Boxer (I think that's what the katakana translates to!!!). It's a slow paced really beautiful and melodic rock song. It's wonderful, very beautiful. And the vocalist has a quite a high pitch soothing voice.. Really nice, very well arranged and put together song!
Well, here is their song!
Check it!
