Well, got to know this band through LUNKHEAD (again). Lunkhead and hare-brained unity are friends, probably because both bands center around Shimokitazawa.
Anyway, I'm not a fan of disco (I think 80s disco should be erased from music history ahahahahha)... But I decided to check this band out because of Lunkhead's recommendation. I didn't know at that time that hare-brained unity was actually disco based.
But after checking them out, I really, really, really liked their mix of disco rock! Seriously! I thought their sound is really fresh and different from other rock bands out there. Unlike, poppish and dance-electronical band like hellogoodbye, hare-brained unity is way more rock than disco. I feel the foundation of their songs is based on a rock track, played to a disco beat and electronics that binds the two together.
Definitely a band to check out!! Especially if you're sick and tired of the usual rock sounds out there!!
I'd love to see this band live!!!
